FLEX Director, Portfolio Strategy, Planning & Performance

The FLEX Director, Portfolio Strategy, Planning & Performance leads strategic planning, market research, and performance analysis enhancing the global performance and growth of Marriott's diverse brand portfolio. The Director collaborates with the Global Lodging Products and Experiences Leaders and other functions to craft global growth strategies, leveraging research and insights across the enterprise. These global strategies are then tailored in partnership with the Continent teams to ensure they are effectively tailored and executed. The Director tracks performance and refines strategies in a continuous improvement loop. Additionally, the Director will define the enabling processes for this discipline to ensure consistency and efficiency across the portfolio. Finally, the Director will prepare and present performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Strategy, Market Research, or quantitative discipline.
- 8+ experience of relevant professional experience in business strategy, analytics, market research, and/or related functions – demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
- Strong analytical skills, with expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, GenAI platforms (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude), Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, and other tools.
- Strong project management and time management skills
Preferred
- Masters in Business Administration
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Own discrete projects end-to-end, including managing output development and relationships with key senior stakeholders
- Develop strategies and insights on brand positioning, and deliver high-quality strategic perspectives on competitor brands – leveraging a diverse range of data, both quantitative and qualitative (e.g., Demand Spaces, internal performance analyses, interviews)
- Lead analysis to understand performance of brand initiatives and programs.
- Drive research and reporting on industry trends and competitive efforts to innovate in guest experience – domestically and globally.
- Analyze impact of proof of concept and pilot test programs to understand guest reactions.
- Work closely with CX team to leverage additional insights, tools, and resources where relevant.
- Collaborate with other analytic teams in partner disciplines to solve business questions and issues using data and insights.
- Communicate insights through visually appealing presentations that can be shared with senior leaders and key external stakeholders.
- Create timelines, analysis plans, and potential needs for future projects.
- Provide on-going reporting, as well as ad hoc analytical requests.
