Food and Beverage Guest Service Agent - Banquet

POSITION SUMMARY

The Food & Beverage Guest Service Agent – Banquets is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service during banquet, conference, meeting, and special event functions. This role ensures banquet events are set up and executed according to Marriott brand standards while providing outstanding guest service, maintaining presentation standards, and supporting the successful delivery of events and guest experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Banquet Service Operations

• Set up banquet rooms, tables, stations, and service areas according to event requirements and service standards
• Serve food, beverages, and alcoholic drinks professionally and efficiently
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverage orders
• Assist with event preparation, service execution, and post-event breakdown
• Complete opening and closing duties including restocking supplies and equipment

2. Guest Experience & Service Excellence

• Welcome guests and provide exceptional service throughout banquet functions
• Answer questions regarding menu selections, beverages, and event offerings
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests and concerns
• Ensure guest satisfaction during service and address issues professionally
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing Marriott brand standards

3. Event Coordination & Communication

• Communicate guest requests, allergies, dietary requirements, and special needs to the kitchen team
• Coordinate with culinary and banquet teams to ensure seamless event execution
• Communicate menu availability, service timing, and operational updates effectively
• Support teamwork and collaboration to achieve successful event outcomes

4. Cash Handling & Point of Sale Operations

• Accurately record orders and transactions using the MICROS system
• Present guest checks and process payments accurately
• Follow all cash handling and payment procedures in accordance with company standards

5. Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, service stations, equipment, china, glassware, and utensils
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, health, and sanitation standards
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly
• Ensure compliance with Marriott policies, procedures, and workplace safety requirements
• Maintain professional grooming, appearance, and conduct standards at all times

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma certificate in Tourism or Hospitality or related field 
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Food & Beverage, Banquet Operations, Hospitality, or a related field
• Previous hotel or banquet service experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Professional grooming and presentation standards
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required
