Q: Share an inspiring and/or memorable time in your position. What made it so memorable?
A: I began my career with Marriott as a Housekeeper. My hard work and dedication was recognized and I rapidly advanced into management. I am currently a department head and treasure every moment that allows me to perform my duties with the sense of empowerment and support that is offered from our company’s leaders.

The team that I am fortunate enough to work with is an extension of my family. I achieved the JW Marriott Award of Excellence and was honored with a celebration in Washington. The excitement was indescribable. All the Hosts that worked at corporate came out of their offices and cheered as I walked the red carpet. Mr. Marriott himself draped my neck with medallion that I will forever treasure.

Q: How have you grown personally since you’ve been working at Marriott International?
A: I have grown as an individual and as a leader. I have always had very strong leaders to learn from. Our company is known for sharing and developing others. My leaders before me have taught me things that I pass to those I lead. I truly believe the strength of this company is its people and the reason is that its people are valued. We all have a voice.
