Assistant Director of Sales

Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Dur Hospitality Company SJSC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

As the Assistant Director of Sales, you will work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to deliver exceptional performance through innovative strategies and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to implement and execute the hotel’s commercial plan.
  • Represent the hotel in the local and hospitality communities to drive visibility and engagement.
  • Lead, support, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
  • Manage and maintain efficient sales systems, including sales records, group booking logs, and follow-up procedures.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities, building strategies to increase revenue.
  • Ensure timely and professional servicing of business accounts, including booking, contracting, and post-event follow-ups.
  • Conduct daily sales calls and arrange site inspections with corporate clients.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to ensure financial targets align with rate negotiations and market demands.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers through sales calls, entertainment, and trade shows.
  • Execute operational tasks related to business bookings, such as proposals, contracts, and customer correspondence.

Education:

  • Diploma or higher degree in a related field.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of hotel-related sales experience.
  • A strong background in Event Booking Center (EBC) operations is highly preferred.
