Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at a Courtyard Hotel assists the General Manager in managing the overall operations of the hotel. This role involves ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, maximizing revenue, and maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness. The AGM also plays a key role in staff management, financial oversight, and maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Relations

Assist in providing excellent customer service and addressing guest concerns or issues promptly.
Ensure that the hotel consistently meets brand standards and guest expectations.

Staff Management

Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising hotel staff.
Schedule and manage staff assignments, ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among employees.
 

Financial Management

Assist in creating and managing the hotel's budget.
Monitor revenue and expenses to maximize profitability.
Review financial reports and take corrective actions as necessary.
 

Operations Management

Oversee day-to-day hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services.
Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards are met.
Assist in implementing and enforcing hotel policies and procedures.
 

Sales and Marketing

Support sales and marketing efforts to drive revenue and occupancy rates.
Assist in identifying opportunities for revenue growth, such as upselling and cross-selling.
 

Security and Safety

Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
 

Vendor and Inventory Management

Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

Quality Assurance

Conduct regular inspections to ensure the hotel meets quality standards.
Address any maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly.
 

Reporting

Prepare and submit reports to the General Manager or corporate office as required.

A Courtyard Hotel Assistant General Manager is a critical member of the hotel's leadership team, contributing to its success by ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient operations, and financial stability. They work closely with the General Manager and other department heads to achieve the hotel's goals and maintain brand standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in hotel management, preferably as an Assistant General Manager or similar role.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
