POSITION SUMMARY

Business Center Supervisor | Operations (Hourly)

 

Responsible for the overall management of the Business Center Department. This includes Annual Financial Budgeting, forecasting for the department, prepare and presentation of financial reports including profit and loss statements. Responsible for the daily operation of the department which includes, but not limited to supervising a team of Business Center Agents and Event Concierge, the Business Center operation in accordance with hotel standards. Assist management in hiring, disciplining, and coaching employees. Responsible for training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, motivating employees, annual employee performance reviews. 

Partner with the Event Management Department in the successful execution of events and programs. Organize and attend pre-conference meetings with Meeting Planners. Acts as a liaison between the Meeting Planner and the Hotel. Works with the Operations Team to ensure accurate event setups.  Establishes and maintains positive relationships with Meeting Planners and Vendors to ensure seamless events and programs while delivering the highest quality of service.  Must have ability to positively and proactively handle customer concerns/issues, paired with unparalleled personalized service, adaptability to a dynamic workplace environment with ability to multi-task. Works closely with the accounting department and Meeting Planners on relevant Business Center charges requested by Event Managers/Coordinators. 

Flexible schedule availability; include early mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Other Key Responsibilities:

Supply guests with directions and property information. Accommodate guest requests, contacting appropriate staff if necessary. Follow up to ensure requests have been met. Process all payment types, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges. Balance and drop receipts. Manage all event shipping and receiving, month end accruals and reclasses.  Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of previous supervisory experience with a diverse and multicultural team.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a luxury ambience 
  • Associate’s degree in hospitality, Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or affiliated discipline
  • Previous knowledge of direct guest contact
  • Fluent in English language, written & verbal
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgeted expenses
  • Outgoing, positive personality
  • Outstanding computer skills in MS Office applications and computer hardware
