Coordinator-Public Relations

Costa Rica Office

Remote position can be based in Mexico

Strive to impact the properties revenue objectives and meet specific property goals through communication actions. Showcase the strength of the Marriott International portfolio, philosophy, and standards through communication activities including drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, compiling media materials, managing media requests and supporting PR event organization Actively support corporate campaigns that enhance the company´s reputation to the local communities (Central America and South America).

This position reports to the Director of PR in the region.

CRITICAL TASKS

Public Relations

  • Generate media materials, including press releases, fact sheets, speeches, media kits, briefs, newsletters, agendas, among others.
  • Proof media materials sent by properties, brands and other stakeholders
  • Support strategy development; identify and propose story angles to promote CASA´s hotels
  • Support execution of PR requests, activations and media events as needed
  • Support hotel pre-opening communications.
  • Support tracking and compiling coverage, activities, etc. for various reports 
  • Assistance with compiling and editing multi-property responses to media leads
  • Vetting inbound media/influencer stay requests 
  • Maintaining media contact list

Department Support 

  • Review, process invoices with Director approval; keep detailed invoicing log
  • Draft presentations 
  • Create and manage PR work-in-progress calendar and related documents; upload to internal tools (eg Marketing – PR calendar)
  • Support the managing of PR internal and shared files on Teams

Computer Skills

  • Use computer systems and software packages to input, access, modify, store, or output information

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education B.A. in Communications, Journalism or PR
Related Work Experience At least 2 years of related work experience
