Our Hotels’ team seeks to fill the position of:

Multi Property Director of Catering Services

Will be reporting to the Multi Property Hotel Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities to include:

  • Understands the impact of Banquet operations on the overall success of an event and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Uses banquet beverage records to control liquor costs and manage the banquet beverage perpetual inventory.
  • Schedules banquet service staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits.
  • Assists team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.
  • Sets goals and delegates tasks to improve departmental performance.
  • Conducts monthly department meetings with the Banquet team.
  • Applies and continually broadens knowledge of food and wine pairings and cutting edge cuisine with emphasis on current event trends.
  • Acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff.
  • Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
  • Strives to improve service performance.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
  • Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals.
  • Monitors progress and leads discussion with staff each period.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Reviews quarterly Meeting Planner Survey results and participates in the development and implementation of corrective action to address service challenges; focuses on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction.
  • Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings.

Additional Duties:

  • Comply with all Local law safety regulations for food safely, food handling and Allergen compliance.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Identify and recommend new ideas, technologies, or processes to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
  • Maintain inventory and purchase orders log.
  • Install, maintain, perform preventative maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances, and equipment.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
  • Deliver Associate Training initiatives on F&B Service standards, Customer Satisfaction, and all Health and Safety
  • Assist in preparation and running of safety drills

The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills and attributes

  • Holder of a Bachelor’s ddegree in Tourism, or equivalent, will be considered an Asset
  • Have at least 5 years of working experience in a similar position in the hospitality sector, preferably in an international, luxury environment, supervising a team of 30 or more.
  • Have an excellent command of the English language certified at Proficiency 
  • Have advanced command of the Greek Language (or a Native Speaker
  • Hold an ECDL certification with excellent working knowledge of EXCEL
  • Have applied knowledge of Marriott Systems, such as GXP, Opera, Micros and Marriott BonVoy programs
  • Have advanced reporting, scheduling, people development and project management skills
  • Have Initiative, Influence and excellent Team-work skills, with an ability to align the work of teams
  • Have analytical, numerical skills and attention to detail; results orientated & adaptable
  • Have strong Interpersonal communication skills, integrity and commitment; advanced written & verbal communication skills 
  • Have the Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage oneself & others
  • Have access to the Labor Market of Greece (prior to the application for the role), or be a holder of European Union citizenship
