Job Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for overall account management, business generation and sales prospecting for the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Cumberland, MD.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership:
Leads and communicates the vision of Plamondon Hospitality Partners’ properties.
Models and implements the corporate mission, “The Values You Respect”.
Demonstrates leadership skills by developing sales team/leadership through ongoing training through brand resources as required.
Demonstrates leadership skills within the company by providing training to front line associates to qualify business leads.
Demonstrates ability to successfully promote and enforce company policies, procedures, ideas and concepts.
Ensures associate recognition is occurring with the General Manager; celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
Operations:
Prepare annual revenue budget.
Direct the sales efforts of the hotel to meet or exceed the budget.
Develop and manage sales budget.
Generate top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget goals.
Cultivate and source leads through cold calls, telemarketing, direct sales, referrals, newspapers, networking, sales blitz, Tourism leads and Marriott National Sales.
Review Month end reports and provide dialogue for Month end critique.
Create and produce quarterly sales action plans.
Create SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant,Tractable.
Critique weekly/monthly STAR data reports with action plans to improve occupancy and ADR penetration.
Conduct weekly sales meetings in conjunction with Director of Sales and the General Manager.
Work with the corporate office to develop collateral for hotels.
Keep e-channels current and up to date.
Enforces policies and procedures and documents associates when necessary.
Actively participate I weekly revenue calls.
Community Relations:
Maintain rapport with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients, and the local community.
Attend community relations meetings (Chamber, Tourism, etc.).
Safety and Security
Report and document work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to General Manager. If General Manager is not immediately available, see the emergency telephone contact numbers at the front desk to call the Director of Hotel Operations.
Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe and secure environment for all guests and associates.
Report and document all guest and associate incidents and accidents to General Manager immediately. If General Manager is not immediately available, see the emergency telephone contact numbers at the front desk to call the Director of Hotel Operations.
Required to wear appropriate manager attire as well as proper non-slip shoes that comply with our uniform standards.
Serve as a mentor for associates, taking a proactive approach in dealing with employee concerns.
Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Majority of work is performed in a lighted, heated and cooled environment.
Local travel is necessary for support of hotel operations.
Willingness and ability to work in other hotels operated by Plamondon Hospitality Partners.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Corporate Director of Sales.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Marriott select service and extended stay experience preferred.
Related college degree required or substitute equivalent sales experience.
Direct sales and sales management experience of at least 2 to 3 years.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability and desire to perform outside direct sales.
Ability to perform the physical aspects of the job including sitting, bending, climbing, standing, reaching and walking for up to 90% of the workday and lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs.
Understanding of revenue generation and profit/loss implications.
Ability to work as a team player with all levels of hotel staff.
Excellent guest relations skills.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, proper insurance coverage, a reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record for business related travel.
