Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Mansa Hospitality. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

SUMMARY: Responsible for generating top line revenue to meet or exceed budget expectations. Work closely with the General Manager, Regional Sales Director, and hotel team to develop and implement an affective revenue generating plan.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develop and maintain revenue generating plan and sales budget with the General Manager and Regional Sales Director.
2. Increase revenue from market segments and key accounts.
3. Help coordinate yield management with the General Manager and Operations Manager.
4. Participate in joint sales calls with the General Manager and other managers who participate in sales
5. Prepare weekly sales meetings.
6. Rigorously follow up with all leads in a timely manner.
7. Identify referrals and send cold leads back to the lead generation group.
8. Focus on the proper mix of business for the hotel.
9. Penetrate and saturate customer organization to do department selling.
10. Know competitors top accounts, decision makers, rates and what it will take to move business.
11. Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, sales blitzes, National Sales Office, and other sources.
12. Cultivate lead sources. Cross sell all properties.
13. Qualify in-house guests.
14. Complete weekly sales call reports and maintain SalesPro. Submit reports to the General Manager, Regional Sales Director and Home Office, as requested.
15. Network with prospects to uncover other decision makers.
16. Establish and maintain close contact with accounts through phone calls, tours, appointments, correspondence, and entertainment. Assess future and current needs of the guests.
17. Maintain and back-up computer sales files and trace system of accounts.
18. Develop team member attitude of attentiveness and anticipation of the guest’s needs.
19. Assist the General Manager in resolving guest complaints that are of concern to the sales team.
20. Maintain an active and visible position in the local community and industry.
21. Participate in community activities, team member functions and guest events.
22. Coordinate with other hotel departments and personnel, all sales information necessary for the professional execution of commitments.
23. Know the hotel emergency policy and proper administration of issued keys.

Must have worked 5+ years in a hotel as a Sales Manager for Marriott, Hilton or IHG property.
