Engineering Technician - Multi Skilled
The Ritz-Carlton Maldives Fari IslandsPOSITION SUMMARY
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning tools, electrical systems, apparatus, and components.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other system components.
- Use diagnostic devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Test and maintain batteries in generators, emergency lighting, and other equipment.
- Plan the layout and installation of electrical systems based on job specifications, National Electric Code standards, and local codes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to guide installations and repairs.
- Respond to repair requests and perform preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and appliances.
- Manage maintenance inventory and requisition necessary parts and supplies.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow company safety and security protocols.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Properly store and handle flammable materials.
Guest and Team Interaction:
- Welcome and assist guests according to company standards, providing exceptional service.
- Anticipate and address guest needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and respond to their concerns appropriately.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, accurately completing documentation and reports.
Physical Requirements:
- Move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds without assistance.
- Handle and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights with precision.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within 5-star or luxury resorts in the Maldives.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, familiarity with electrical codes, and proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment.
