Executive Chef

We, Hotel Equites, are looking for a dedicated and committed Executive Chef. You will play a key role in leading our team to exceed guest expectations and support property-wide initiatives.

What will you do?

Plan and manage the kitchen staff in the procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel in a safe, sanitary work environment which conforms to all standards and regulations and achieves profitable, competitive, quality products.

Essential Functions:

  • Direct and oversee all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulations, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability
  • Interact with guests and clients to monitor and assess satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
  • Perform general management duties including, but not limited to, systems management, budget and forecasting, report generation, department management and meeting participation and facilitation
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Participate, support and make recommendations for ongoing hotel programs with continues improvement in networking.
  • Adhere to all applicable Company Standard Operating Procedures

o Be knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures, lost and found items and security concerns

o Adhere to all state and federal requirements regarding to the sale of alcohol

o Adhere to all Health Department requirements

o Maintain a clean and orderly work area free of hazards

 

About you:

Experience - As an ideal candidate, You will have:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Ability to read recipes and follow their instructions.
  • Ability to physically self-demonstrate culinary techniques, i.e., cutting, cooking principles, plate presentation, safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to create appropriate buffet displays up to 5-6 feet in height and the ability to set up, maintain and breakdown same.
