Role Overview
Westin Brisbane is seeking a dynamic and passionate Spa & Wellness Supervisor to bring energy, radiance, and excellence to our Heavenly Spa. In this key role, you will assist in the management of the Signature Heavenly Spa by Westin and Wellness facility, ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for both guests and staff. You will play an integral part in driving the business forward, fostering the development of team members, and maintaining the high standards that define the "Heavenly Experience." Your leadership will inspire a vibrant atmosphere, where every detail contributes to an unforgettable spa journey for our guests.
The Spa Supervisor will provide operational support to the Spa Manager, ensuring the smooth running of the Heavenly Spa by Westin. This role includes managing spa operations, overseeing training programs, handling stock orders/inventory, and assisting with reception duties. The Spa Supervisor will also be responsible for delivering exceptional spa services, including massages, body treatments, skincare, and more, while maintaining high standards of service and safety. You will play a key role in maintaining a well-trained team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting the business's overall success.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Spa Manager in daily operations, including training, stock ordering, and reception tasks.
- Provide spa services such as massages, body treatments, and skincare to guests.
- Assess guest needs, inquire about contraindications, and evaluate skin conditions to ensure the appropriateness of services.
- Promote and sell spa services and retail products, achieving a 70/30 split between service and product sales.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are clean, sterilized, and well-maintained.
- Handle any inappropriate guest behavior by halting services and informing the manager when necessary.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Follow company policies, maintain a professional appearance, and ensure confidentiality of business information.
- Develop positive relationships with team members, providing support to help achieve common goals.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and assist in managing spa performance consistency.
- Oversee spa reception duties, including opening and closing procedures, in the absence of the Spa Manager.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance therapists' skills and product knowledge.
- Manages supplies and equipment inventories and stock levels within budget.
- Attend meetings and represent the spa when needed, providing valuable input for operational improvements.
- Takes ownership of Spa facilities ensuring areas are presentable and deliver an outstanding Spa experience to guests.
About you
- Proven business acumen and extensive experience in Spa management are essential.
- Previous experience in a Five-Star hotel or Day Spa is highly desirable.
- Qualified in Health and Beauty Services, with certification in Massage Therapy.
- Strong passion for, and in-depth knowledge of, current trends in Spa operations and Beauty Therapy.
- Knowledge of trends in the Wellness or Fitness industry is highly regarded.
- Passionate about the Spa industry and for Health & Wellbeing.
- Flexible availability to work on a 7-day rotating roster, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of relevant experience, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), excellent attention to detail, and a vibrant, engaging personality.
