W Sydney located at 31 Wheat Road is hiring a Restaurant Manager. The centre of W Sydney’s culinary journey, BTWN restaurant is situated ‘between’ the city’s sweeping expressways and Darling Harbour. This Sydney restaurant and cocktail bar serves contemporary Australian flavors alongside a dynamic urban vista. Reporting to the Director of Beverage & Food, this integral role will take on an entrepreneurial approach to drive the restaurant business and manage day-to-day operations. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to; 

  • Provides the leadership, vision, and direction to bring people together and prioritise the departmental goals in a way that will be efficient and effective;
  • Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaches, mentors, or otherwise helps others to improve their knowledge or skills;
  • Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, provide guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed;
  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met;
  • Acts as the guest service role model for the restaurant, sets a good example of excellent guest service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations;
  • Assists servers and hosts on the floor during meal periods and high demand times;
  • Monitors alcohol beverage service and ensures compliance with local laws;
  • Controls purchases and inventory by negotiating prices and contracts, developing preferred supplier lists, reviewing, and evaluating usage reports.
