POSITION SUMMARY

This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. The resort comprises 295 guest rooms, suites and villas. 

 

Australian Working Rights are essential; this is not a Sponsorship role. 

 

Department 

We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant who will report directly to the Assistant Director of Finance. 

 

Assistant Accountant: 

  • Month End Journals and Accruals 
  • Balance Sheet and Bank Reconciliation 
  • Prepare BAS, PAYG and other taxes 
  • Maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of month end reports 
  • Completion and submission of monthly reporting requirements  
  • Support development and implementation of consistent finance practices 
  • Respond to adhoc request for information from Regional and Divisional offices and department heads 

 

Skills and experience 

  • Experience in a similar role 
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Relevant Accounting & Finance qualifications 
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to create positive relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders 
  • Experience working in the hospitality industry will be highly regarded 
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts
