Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Will be reporting to the Multi Property Housekeeping Manager

Scope of the Role:

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for supporting the Housekeeping Manager in supporting the day-to-day activities in Housekeeping Department. This role ensures that all rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will supervise housekeeping staff, coordinate daily cleaning schedules, maintain inventory, and help provide an exceptional guest experience.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Supervise the Housekeeping Team that supports both Rooms, and Public Areas, schedule shifts, conduct training, ensure an excellent quality of product and cleanliness in all Hotel areas that Housekeeping maintains 
  • Supervise the inventory of both Hotels, and ensure orders are made in a timely fashion and that we maintain correct levels of par stock
  • Supervise all Brand and Luxury Collection standards in the rooms and public areas, ensuring that checks are made in a correct manner by the team of Floor Supervisors and Assistants – conduct inspections to ensure quality
  • Support the Leadership Team with the preparation of budgets, training plans, performance management, and or, disciplinary processes as needed
  • Support in all Reports prepared by the Housekeeping Team
  • Liase with the Engineering Team to ensure timely repairs and renovations, as a support to the Housekeeping Leadership team
  • Support in Guest Experience Management and potential areas for improvement
  • Ensure that all systems are up-to-date: GXP, Opera, etc, and that all Team use correctly
  • Maintain an excellent relationship with all Hotel Departments which Housekeeping cooperates with

The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills and attributes

  • University Degree in Tourism (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of Opera and Micros
  • Working knowledge of GXP will be considered an asset
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a supervisory position in the hospitality sector, preferably in an international, luxury environment, with a specialization in Housekeeping
  • Excellent command of Greek, and the English language certified at Proficiency level
  • Strong people and project management skills
  • Problem solving skills. A can do attitude is a must.
  • Organizing skills and coordination ability
  • Analytical, and attention to detail
  • Interpersonal communication skills, integrity and commitment 
  • EU National or Greek Resident
