Catering Sales Manager

The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Head the Catering Sales Department’s day to day catering sales operations by carrying out the following:
*Coordinate and review all booking files with clients.
*Receive all phone calls from the clients and promptly prioritize responding to clients messages to fulfill their inquiries.
*Operate inventory to account for all equipment and supplies. Make sure linens, audio visual and banquet supplies are up to par.
*Observes conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the department, making recommendations for corrections and improvements as necessary.
*Work closely with the entire Sales team to ensure budgets are met by formulating and implementing sales and marketing strategies.
*Work daily with the department to review status of business, schedules, priority assignments and all information pertinent to the catering sales department’s operation.
*Continuously prospect to search for business opportunities in all market segments observing the market niche for the hotel.
*Work closely with the Executive Chef in all aspects to ensure the smooth running of every event regarding the food and beverage requirements.
*Determine what additional business or market segments the hotel should actively pursue.
*Develop special packages, promotions, and programs to boost the Catering Sales business and review same with DOS.
*Maintain accurate sales files, production reports and trace systems and report all on a weekly basis to DOS and General Manager.
*Responsible for ensuring personal sales goals are achieved through a detailed prospecting plan.
*Maintain knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.
*Work with Group Sales to ensure bookings of clients’ needs for rooms are met.
*Assist ACSM with layout of event diagrams and logistics to ensure maximum satisfaction of guests, at the same time ensuring maximum space and revenue parameters are met and exceeded.
*Up-sell food, beverage, décor, linens, audio visual, and any other event amenities at every opportunity.
*Coordinate with your department personnel to determine greeting of clients at the beginning of their event so hotel is represented, and maintain communication with the client while onsite, especially during breaks and/or lunch, or while moving from general sessions to breakouts. It is important to coordinate with Banquet department to make sure rooms are refreshed during breaks or lunch times.
* Ensure all signs are installed each day for all events in the hotel and that directions are clearly marked to event rooms (liaise with Banquets).
*Conduct a daily review of banquet checks to ensure all charges are correct.
*Communicate with all departments to solve/prevent/react to any problems that may arise throughout guests’ event.
*Collect post conference report from the Banquet Department and review with Food & Beverage Director and ACSM. Ensure any changes/counts/guarantees were all correct and charged accordingly. Ensure event is closed out in the system for accounting purposes.
*Assist in sales calls and outside blitzes when required in conjunction with Sales team.
*Attend outside networking events in conjunction with ACSM.
*Create weekly sales and activity report for DOS and General Manager (due by 4:00pm Friday of each week).
*Attend weekly social media meetings with CSM and other department personnel to review the needs of the hotel across all platforms
*Any other assignments as designated.
REQUIREMENTS
*Microsoft Word, Excel, MSI, and Reserve, software
*Day and evening availability, including weekends and holidays as per the requirements of your position and in conjunction with the needs of the hotel.
*Knowledge of applicable computer programs to carry out all duties of position.
*Hours of business: 8:00am-5:00am - Monday through Friday. The added responsibility of Manager On Duty (MOD) will apply to Managers as outlined on the MOD Schedule.
*There is a policy of no wearing of head

$60K - $70K, based on experience
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 annually.
