The Sheraton Agoura Hills, CA is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee all engineering, maintenance, and preventative maintenance operations for the hotel. This leadership position is responsible for maintaining the property's physical assets, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and team members, and leading a high-performing maintenance team.
 
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience managing hotel facilities, capital projects, and regulatory compliance.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead all engineering and maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance programs.
  • Supervise, train, and develop the engineering team.
  • Ensure guest rooms, public spaces, and building systems are maintained to brand standards.
  • Oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and pool systems.
  • Manage departmental budgets, labor, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire/life safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Partner with hotel leadership to support daily operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues as needed.
 
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of engineering or facilities management experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and hotel operations.
  • Experience managing budgets, contractors, and capital projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Professional certifications or licenses are a plus.
