- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and Marriott standards.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the required quality standards.
- Support senior chefs during service periods to ensure timely food delivery.
- Assist with buffet, banquet, à la carte, and special event food preparation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area at all times.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food products using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Chef de Partie.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries according to hotel procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
- Adhere to Marriott's Food Safety Management System and HACCP standards.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Maintain personal hygiene and professional grooming standards.
- Report equipment faults, maintenance issues, and safety hazards immediately.
- Contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences for hotel guests.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet guest expectations.
- Respond positively to feedback and implement improvements where required.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams.
- Participate in training programs and development opportunities.
- Support colleagues during busy periods and special events.
- Demonstrate Marriott's values of excellence, integrity, and service.
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery, or related field.
- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Passion for food and hospitality.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
