Job Title: BakerPosition Summary
The Baker is responsible for producing high-quality breads, pastries, and other baked goods in accordance with established recipes and standards. This role ensures consistency in taste, presentation, and food safety while supporting team operations and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
Production & Quality
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts, including mixing doughs, preparing fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating.
- Review daily production sheets to plan and prioritize baking tasks.
- Follow standardized recipes and presentation guidelines to maintain quality and consistency.
- Monitor food quality and portion sizes throughout the shift.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Maintain accurate kitchen logs to comply with food safety programs.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices, including personal hygiene standards.
- Check and record temperatures of ovens, refrigerators, and prepared foods; report any issues promptly.
Equipment & Tools
- Safely operate baking equipment, measuring tools, and appliances.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all baking tools and workstations.
Team Support & Leadership
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching team members.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to company policies.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and guests.
Operational Standards
- Comply with all safety, security, and company policies.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs without assistance.
- Comfortable working on uneven or slippery surfaces and performing tasks requiring bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
Other Duties
- Support daily specials planning by informing Chef of excess food items.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
License or Certification: None
