JOB SUMMARY:
 
The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals for hotel guests, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This position involves following menu recipes, preparing ingredients, cooking meals to order, and contributing to the overall guest dining experience.
We are currently hiring for 5am and 3pm shifts.
 
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 
•Prepares and cooks food items according to hotel recipes and quality standards.
•Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including utensils and cooking equipment.
•Ensures all food items are cooked and presented in a timely manner.
•Monitors food inventory levels and report when supplies need to be replenished.
•Adheres to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
•Assists in menu planning and recipe development.
•Ensures proper portion control and minimize food waste.
•Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, and grills.
•Collaborates with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
•Prepares ingredients for cooking, including chopping, slicing, and dicing.
•Handles and stores food items according to food safety regulations.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
 
 
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
 
•Strong cooking and food preparation skills.
•Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
•Ability to follow recipes and adjust according to guest preferences or dietary restrictions.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
•Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
•Ability to handle kitchen equipment, including knives, stoves, and ovens.
•Strong time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines during meal service.
 
 
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
 
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•2-3 years of experience as a cook or in a similar food preparation role.
•Culinary certification or degree is a plus, but not required.
 
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
•Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
•Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
•Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours.
•Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
