The Director – Data Technology Architect is responsible for defining and implementing Marriott’s enterprise data architecture strategy. This role ensures that data platforms and solutions are designed for scalability, security, and performance, enabling advanced analytics and operational excellence. The position leads architecture governance, establishes standards, and collaborates across technology and business teams to deliver integrated, future-ready data ecosystems. With a focus on cloud-native architectures, data modeling, and interoperability, this role supports Marriott’s mission to leverage data as a strategic asset.

 

Job Requirements 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field 
•    8+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data platforms, or solution design 
•    Expertise in data modeling, integration patterns, and architecture frameworks 
•    Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) 
•    Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards 
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 

 

Job Duties 
•    Define and maintain Marriott’s enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap 
•    Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions aligned with business objectives 
•    Establish architecture standards, patterns, and best practices for data integration and interoperability 
•    Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure architectural alignment across projects 
•    Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies for data platforms 
•    Provide architectural oversight for major data initiatives and ensure compliance with governance policies 
•    Mentor and guide technical teams on architecture principles and practices
