JOB SUMMARY

As an integral part of Customer discipline, Communications is a strategic function and encompasses the actions we take to influence our external guests, company and community-at-large. 

All consumer PR activities must be integrated into the continent’s overall strategic plan with a focus on brand, loyalty and portfolio PR & communications and must parallel the primary revenue objectives of the hotels / brands and parent company. 

The consumer public relations’ philosophy and culture must be paramount in all activities and showcase the strength of our brands and the travel platform – Marriott Bonvoy . 

To guarantee success in this function, the ideal candidate is above all a team player and excellence executor. They should have a solid understanding of the travel industry; brand PR and marketing; good communication skills, excellent written and spoken abilities in Chinese (good spoken and written proficiency in English); budgeting abilities and planning skills; and the ability to successfully multi-task duties. The Executive of Communications must be able to leverage successes to positively influence consumers. 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

 

Education and Experience 

  • A university degree or equivalent experiences. 
  • Passionate in public relations and travel industry
  • Consumer public relations experience / travel industry experience / agency background is preferred
  • Experience in journalism is a plus.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Great communicator. Be able to support the broader Comms team and proactively drive for alignment and execution. 
  • Travel, hospitality, consumer goods industry background in public relations. 
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word computer programs. 
  • Excellent Chinese writing skills 
  • Solid spoken and written English.

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

  • Is expected to support Greater China Communications team, to manage Greater China communications calendar, develop relevant on-going reports, provide supports to offline events, and take care other administrative and budget management assignments. 
  • Work closely with PR agencies to develop impactful content which leverages the strength of the brands & loyalty program and leads to opportunities in the region and beyond, including craft press releases and media pitch decks, videos, design creative immersive experience, etc.
  • Partner with relevant team members and functions to execute innovative communications campaigns to drive brand & Bonvoy awareness and consumer preference in China. 
  • Cooperate with PR agency to design integrated communications campaign and execution including press release, campaign plan and event. 
  • Build relationships with key media, influencers. Provides timely and accurate responses when media queried.
  • Embraces projects with a sense of urgency with the utmost attention paid to enhancing and respecting the brands as well as the company.
