FLEX Manager, AAW

This is a temporary position. 

The FLEX Manager, AAW will be an organized project manager ready to deliver a world-class experience to Marriott associates through Associate Appreciation Week. This position will work with the Director of Change Management and Associate Engagement and Senior Manager of Change Management and Associate Engagement to build and deliver events that drive pride in Marriott International. 

 

The individual will work to build project plans that keep these projects organized, within budget and on timeline, by managing logistics with stakeholders throughout the company, and promote the events with associates.  

 

The Manager will be expected to have strong skills in project management, organization, budget management, communication, marketing and promotion, and relationship building to deliver successful events. 

 

Primary responsibilities include: 

 

Project Management: Develop and deliver project plans that keep events organized, under budget, on timeline and drive excitement and engagement among HQ associates for Associate Appreciation Week. 

Event Planning: Ability to plan ahead and work with vendors to put on robust events that cultivate pride at Marriott, build community across disciplines and teams, and encourage fun. 

Marketing and Communications: Develop professional communications and marketing collateral. This includes crafting messages, designing event graphics, implementing measurement approaches, and using data and insight to refine plans.  

Relationship Building: Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver every aspect of these signature events. 

 

Education and Experience 

 

Required:  

Strong project manager with experience managing budgets, diverse stakeholders, and meeting tight deadlines in events planning and execution. 

Strong preference will be given to candidates with creative writing or design experience in internal communications, journalism, digital platforms, and marketing. 

 

 

A minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning, or working in a communications dept. 

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or other relevant fields.

Expert Program and Project Management skills, including budgeting and relationship-building 

Proficient written and verbal communication skills 

Strong service orientation, consulting skills, and ability to interface with senior business leaders
