FLEX Manager, Reporting and Analysis
Marriott International HQThe Manager, Reporting and Analysis supports the US & Canada Commercial Analytics organization by maintaining and delivering standardized reporting used across Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management. This role is primarily focused on the day‑to‑day execution, upkeep, and reliability of core reporting assets, ensuring data is refreshed accurately, validated consistently, and delivered on schedule.
The Manager supports data‑driven decision making by monitoring reported results, identifying notable trends or variances, and escalating questions or issues to more senior analytics team members as appropriate. The role partners closely with analytics peers and provides supporting analytical input to commercial stakeholders. Reporting and analysis rely on SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Python, with technical skills developed through formal education, training programs, or hands‑on learning supported by the team.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required
- 4‑year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, analytics, or a quantitative discipline (finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience supporting reporting, analytics, or business intelligence deliverables in a professional environment.
- Exposure to SQL and data querying concepts through academic coursework, bootcamps, online programs, or other structured learning.
- Exposure to programming or analytical tools such as Python, R, VBA, or similar through coursework, training programs, or self‑directed learning.
- Experience working with data visualization or reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring reporting tasks reliably.
- Ability to communicate clearly with analytics peers and escalate issues appropriately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Power Automate, Power Apps, etc.).
Education and Experience Preferred
- Experience refreshing, validating, or maintaining standardized reports in a production environment.
- Exposure to statistical or analytical techniques through coursework or applied projects.
- Exposure to sales, marketing, or revenue management data in a commercial setting.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Reporting Delivery and Maintenance
- Execute and maintain standardized commercial reporting used by Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams.
- Refresh reports and dashboards on a recurring schedule to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Perform routine validation and quality checks to confirm data accuracy and completeness.
Analytical Support and Monitoring
- Review standard reports to identify notable trends, variances, or data issues.
- Support follow‑up analysis requests by preparing data and conducting initial analytical work.
- Escalate data issues, risks, or unexpected results to senior analytics team members as needed.
Stakeholder and Team Support
- Respond to reporting questions from stakeholders with guidance and support from the analytics team.
- Partner with analytics peers to understand reporting priorities and business context.
- Participate in meetings and working sessions to support reporting and analysis discussions.
Data Preparation and Technical Execution
- Run and maintain SQL queries and analytical workflows used for reporting delivery.
- Use programming and analytical tools to support data preparation, automation, and reporting processes.
- Troubleshoot data, code, or report issues with support from teammates and leaders.
Standards, Documentation, and Work Continuity
- Document report logic, data sources, and process steps to support continuity and knowledge sharing.
- Follow established data governance standards, reporting conventions, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Perform other duties as needed in support of the US & Canada Commercial Analytics organization.
