JOB SUMMARY

The Benefits team is responsible for developing and managing programs, resources, and administrative solutions that support Marriott’s associates and strengthen the company’s ability to attract, retain, and engage top talent. This temporary role will provide critical backfill support for a vacant Benefits Operations position, helping maintain day-to-day operational continuity while the team supports a major enterprise-wide initiative.

 

The FLEX Senior Manager, Benefits Operations & Administration is responsible for strategic oversight, operational management, and continuous improvement of Marriott's Benefits Administration function. This leader serves as the primary operational owner for benefit plan administration, vendor management, systems integration, eligibility administration, escalations, and service delivery performance. The role partners closely with Benefits Operations leadership, HR Technology, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient delivery of benefit programs.

 

This position provides leadership across day-to-day operations while driving process improvements, automation, data integrity, and service excellence initiatives that enhance both the associate and administrator experience and improves the overall performance of Marriott’s benefits operations.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in benefit plan administration, consulting, or plan management
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefit plan administration and plan regulations, including IRS and DOL requirements
  • Experience with HRIS and vendor platforms (Oracle HCM, WTW, etc.)
  • Demonstrated excellence in program and project management with the ability to manage cross-functional projects in a large, complex environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset

 

Preferred

  • Experience with outsourced health and welfare benefits administration through WTW and associated vendors
  • Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Drive cross-functional initiatives for automation and system process improvements to eliminate/reduce manual processes in collaboration with internal and external partners. 
  • Lead the strategy, execution and continuous improvement between internal HRIS/payroll and external vendor systems. Troubleshoot and provide issue resolution, as needed. 
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for systemic issues impacting benefits such as enrollment or payroll issues. 
  • Manage vendor relationships for Health and Welfare Benefits Administration providers. 
  • Serve as Operations Lead for new vendor implementations, system upgrades and annual enrollment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to policies, procedures, programs, and benefits leveraging technology solutions and vendor resources.
