JOB SUMMARY

The FLEX Senior Manager, Payroll Operations is a project-specific role responsible for managing day-to-day Payroll Operations workstream activities for the HCM Foundations Project as the work moves into execution, testing, cutover readiness, and transition planning. The role will drive completion of payroll-related project tasks, coordinate stakeholder input and follow-through, and manage Payroll Operations workstream governance.

This role serves as the primary Payroll Operations workstream coordinator and main point of contact for stakeholder and team coordination. The role is accountable for keeping Payroll Operations activities organized, moving, documented, socialized, and aligned across project teams, while leveraging payroll SMEs, Oracle-knowledgeable resources, technology partners, and implementation teams for detailed design and configuration expertise.

The FLEX Senior Manager, Payroll Operations will partner with payroll, HR, payroll accounting, benefits, timekeeping, finance, technology, implementation partners, continents, disciplines, and other cross-functional stakeholders to confirm remaining impacts, support validation activities, coordinate testing and cutover readiness, track decisions and dependencies, and ensure Payroll Operations deliverables, risks, issues, and open actions are actively managed.

This role is focused on coordinating Payroll Operations project activities, driving follow-through on workstream deliverables, and supporting readiness for future-state process and system changes.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience.
  • 3+ years of experience coordinating payroll work, leading small teams or project activities, or serving as a senior payroll subject matter expert.
  • Experience supporting large, complex payroll environments.
  • Experience supporting payroll requirements gathering, testing, operational readiness, and project execution.
  • Experience working with third-party payroll providers and cross-functional business partners.

Preferred

  • Oracle Cloud Payroll, HCM/payroll implementation, or large-scale payroll project experience.
  • Knowledge of timekeeping, benefits, payroll accounting, and HR integrations.
  • Experience in hospitality, multi-entity, global, or large-scale corporate environments.
  • Project management experience.

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Confirm Remaining Impacts and Support Future-State Readiness

  • Track payroll operations business impacts resulting from HCM foundational design decisions.
  • Support final validation of payroll-related objects by organizing inputs, questions, decisions, and follow-ups with payroll SMEs, Oracle-knowledgeable resources, and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with payroll and cross-functional workstreams to track unresolved downstream operational, accounting, compliance, reporting, integration, and employee experience impacts.
  • Coordinate remaining requirements discussions, fit-gap follow-ups, design questions, and stakeholder review needed to move Payroll Operations activities into execution.
  • Identify and escalate payroll process optimization, standardization, automation, and control improvement opportunities for review by the appropriate project and functional owners.

 

Manage Execution, Testing, and Cutover Readiness

  • Coordinate with technology and implementation teams to support payroll operations configuration, build activities, defect resolution, and issue follow-up.
  • Lead coordination of payroll operations testing activities, including test planning inputs, scenario review, business validation, issue follow-up, readiness tracking, and sign-off support.
  • Coordinate payroll operations cutover planning and readiness activities, including checkpoints, stakeholder inputs, open items, transition planning, communications, and business sign-off support.
  • Ensure payroll operations requirements, decisions, issues, and impacts are reflected in testing, readiness, cutover, deployment, and transition activities.
  • Manage completion of payroll operations deliverables, open actions, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and follow-ups.

 

Coordinate Across Payroll and Cross-Functional Workstreams

  • Serve as the main point of contact for day-to-day Payroll Operations workstream coordination.
  • Coordinate across payroll SMEs, HR, Payroll Accounting, Benefits, Timekeeping, Finance, Technology, implementation partners, continents, disciplines, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure Payroll Operations workstream activities are completed through stakeholder socialization, alignment, decision tracking, and follow-through.
  • Facilitate discussion and escalation where HCM foundational design choices create downstream payroll operations impacts.
  • Communicate payroll operations risks, decisions, dependencies, testing status, cutover readiness, transition needs, and open action items clearly to project leadership and stakeholder groups.

 

Manage Payroll Operations Workstream Governance

  • Conduct weekly Payroll Operations workstream meetings to review ongoing deliverables, risks, open action items, issues, decisions, dependencies, and hot topics.
  • Complete the biweekly Payroll Operations workstream status report.
  • Ensure Payroll Operations project plan tasks are current, accurate, and actively managed.
  • Document and maintain Payroll Operations risks, issues, and decisions in the program RAID log.
  • Maintain Jira tracking requirements for Payroll Operations workstream items, as applicable.
