Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Scalzo Hospitality, Inc. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

 

Job Summary:

WHAT YOU WILL DO
 
· Build client relationships and develop business
 
o Respond promptly to group and event inquiries with thoughtful, tailored recommendations and proposals.
 
o Build lasting client relationships through personalized service, proactive communication, and dependable follow-through.
 
o Develop new business through outreach, referrals, networking, community partnerships, and relationship-based prospecting.
 
o Conduct engaging hotel tours, client meetings, and event walk-throughs.
 
o Maintain an accurate, organized pipeline of prospective and confirmed business in the hotel's sales systems.
 
· Create proposals, negotiate agreements, and manage accounts
 
o Prepare accurate proposals, contracts, amendments, and related sales documents.
 
o Guide clients through pricing, contract terms, payment requirements, and planning timelines with clarity and confidence.
 
o Negotiate agreements that create value for the client while supporting the hotel's business goals.
 
o Maintain accurate room-block, event, revenue, and account information and secure required deposits and payment details within established deadlines.
 
o Manage assigned accounts, including annual rate renewals, relationship development, and performance reviews.
 
· Support revenue strategy and business planning
 
o Monitor booking activity, room-night projections, pipeline movement, and progress toward revenue goals.
 
o Partner with hotel leadership and revenue management on pricing, availability, need dates, and business opportunities.
 
o Provide timely, accurate updates and forecasts for upcoming business.
 
· Lead a seamless client handoff
 
o Own the client relationship through proposal, negotiation, contracting, and the transition to event planning.
 
o Communicate expectations, commitments, special requests, and important updates clearly to hotel departments.
 
o Partner closely with event planning, reservations, front desk, food and beverage, and hotel operations to support excellent execution.
 
o Review event and group documentation for accuracy before arrival and remain connected to the client relationship throughout the experience.
 
· Strengthen loyalty and community relationships
 
o Follow up after events to gather feedback, support resolution of service or billing concerns, and identify future opportunities.
 
o Maintain relationships with past clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
 
o Represent the hotel at networking events, client functions, open houses, and community activities as appropriate.

· Clients feel heard, valued, and confident in the hotel from their first interaction through the event handoff.
 
· Relationships grow into repeat business, referrals, and long-term account partnerships.
 
· Sales goals are pursued with consistency, sound judgment, and a healthy balance of service and business strategy.
 
· Proposals, contracts, account records, forecasts, and handoffs are timely and accurate.
 
· Internal partners receive clear information and experience the Sales Manager as collaborative, dependable, and solutions-focused.
 
· Challenges are addressed proactively, calmly, and with full ownership through resolution.
 
 
WHAT YOU BRING
 
· At least two years of experience in hotel, venue, event, account-management, or relationship-based sales.
 
· An associate degree is preferred but not required; relevant experience and demonstrated capability are valued.
 
· A genuine hospitality mindset and a strong commitment to the client and guest experience.
 
· Warm, confident written and verbal communication, with the ability to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions.
 
· Strong organization, accuracy, urgency, and the ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and details.
 
· Sound judgment and comfort navigating pricing discussions, contract terms, negotiation, and client concerns.
 
· Personal accountability, dependable follow-through, adaptability, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
 
· A collaborative style and respect for the expertise of teammates across sales, events, revenue, and hotel operations.
 
· Comfort learning and using sales, customer relationship management, and hotel systems.
 
SCHEDULE AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 
· This is an in-person, full-time position with a primarily Monday-Friday schedule.
 
· Occasional evening or weekend availability is required for client events, tours, networking, or business needs.
 
· The role requires movement throughout the hotel, including the ability to access meeting and guest areas by stairs or similar uneven surfaces when needed.
 
· Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of every task assigned to the position.
 
Bi-weekly pay, health benefits, 401k
 
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually.
