Housekeeper/ Houseman
The Housekeeper/ Houseman is responsible for maintaining uncompromising standards of cleanliness throughout all areas of the hotel, ensuring guests experience a warm, relaxed, and refined ambience during their stay. This role requires promptly responding to requests from guests and other departments while delivering exceptional service. Duties include stocking and transporting a housekeeping cart with necessary supplies to assigned areas; entering guest rooms in accordance with established procedures to ensure vacancy prior to entry; replacing guest amenities, linens, and terry; making beds; cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms; removing trash, soiled linens, and room service items; and ensuring all appliances are present and in proper working order. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining corridors, elevators, landings, and service areas on guest room floors in accordance with hotel standards; stocking floor closets with linen and supplies; providing linen to Room Attendants; and delivering or retrieving items requested by guests or the Night Manager. Shifts may vary and can include overnight hours.
The role requires the ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart over sloping or uneven surfaces; reach overhead and below the knees; bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and walk or stand for extended periods; and grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight with strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
The ideal Candidate must have:
· Minimum 1 year of housekeeping experience required (Residences/Condos preferred)
· Previous experience in floor care treatment
· Experience in carpet cleaning and operating carpet cleaning machines
· Knowledge of proper chemical handling and safety procedures
· Ability to lift up and push/pull heavy objects
· Ability to lift at least 35 pounds on a regular basis
· Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Customer service-oriented and detail-oriented
· Prior guest relations training preferred
· Good communication and listening skills
· Understands the importance of professional engagement with guests and owners
· Dependable and flexible, including handling last-minute requests
· Must maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times
· High school diploma or equivalent vocational training preferred
· Flexible schedule; able to work various shifts including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
