Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, GF Hotels & Resorts. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc.  The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment.  If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

 

The Director of Human Resources at the Delta Marriott Orlando Celebration provides leadership, direction, counsel and support for a broad range of strategic, managerial, and operational issues including recruitment, benefits administration, talent management, training, compliance, and organizational design. 
This role reports to the General Manager
Salary Range:  $95,000 to $105,000 DOE  

Duties/Responsibilities:
Management & Administration 
•Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery policies, practices, methods and procedures; implement process improvement initiatives while partnering with the management HR team in addition to the on-site EC team. 
•Ensure compliance with HR policies; understand and comply with federal and state policies related to human resources functions; work with HR staff to compile and submit all required compliance reports. 
•Oversee administration of employee benefits program and employee assistance program in coordination with the management company. 
•Administer workers’ compensation program; review and process paperwork; coordinate and collaborate with workers’ compensation carrier.
•Partner with senior staff to understand and anticipate hiring and development needs; prepare workforce plans and forecasts that support overall department goals. 
•Collaborate with leadership and HR staff to continuously review and revise job descriptions to reflect current and emerging responsibilities.
•Help attract and hire talent by attending job fairs and developing relationships with public institutions and local community members. 
•Manage all hotel training in compliance with brand standards and in addition management company. 
•Drive the development and implementation of best practices regarding employee retention.
•Serve as a management resource to all levels of leadership and staff; provide counsel and coaching as needed on a variety of HR policy and staffing issues.
•Assist with disciplinary issues, advise department heads on handling employee issues; negotiate and resolve sensitive and controversial issues in addition to notifying the Management company of any termination’s, suspensions, potential lawsuits.

 

•A Bachelor’s degree and at least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a hotel setting. 
•FMLA, DBL, WC and OSHA 300 knowledge is required. 
•Proven track record in talent acquisition strategies is highly desirable.
•Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and compliance standards.
•Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing complex HR functions.
•Proficiency in English required. 
•Maintain a consistently professional, warm, and approachable demeanor.
•Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and guests.
•Demonstrate strong active listening and problem-solving skills, addressing concerns with discretion and professionalism.
•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
