HVAC Technican
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach ResortThe HVAC Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across the property. This role supports guest comfort and operational efficiency by maintaining mechanical systems, monitoring energy usage, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The HVAC Technician also plays a critical role in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting overall facilities operations while delivering exceptional guest service.
Key Responsibilities 1. HVAC Operations & MaintenanceSystem Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and air quality control systems including boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the mechanical plant and perform scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and reduce downtime.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform timely repairs to restore operations efficiently and safely.
Energy Monitoring: Monitor and analyze energy and utilities usage, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
2. Facilities & Technical SupportElectrical & Plumbing Work: Support maintenance through basic electrical wiring, equipment installation, and plumbing system repairs as required.
Equipment Installation: Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and piping systems, fittings, and fixtures.
System Calibration: Calibrate controls, gauges, meters, and monitoring equipment to ensure accurate operation.
Vendor Coordination: Assist in coordinating with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and large-scale repairs.
3. Safety, Compliance & Quality AssuranceSafety Compliance: Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazardous material handling.
Inspections & Reporting: Identify safety hazards, report maintenance issues promptly, and maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Emergency Response: Support emergency procedures, including equipment failures, fire safety systems, and disaster response initiatives.
Quality Standards: Ensure all maintenance work meets company and regulatory quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Guest & Team SupportGuest Service: Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, ensuring comfort and satisfaction in line with brand standards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support operational needs and maintain seamless service delivery.
Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with guests, colleagues, and supervisors regarding maintenance activities and issues.
Skills & QualificationsTechnical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical maintenance practices.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective repair solutions.
Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety standards, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation practices.
Communication & Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining a service-oriented and professional approach.
Physical Capability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
