DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

The intern will work with Marriott’s Regional Vice President Luxury APEC and the Luxury APEC Team based in the Singapore office.  The intern will assist in projects, and supporting initiatives related to hotel operations. Key responsibilities include:  

  • Conduct research on market trends in the APEC region to support strategic planning. 
  • Organize and maintain financial databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information. 
  • Help prepare engaging presentations for the Regional Vice President Luxury APEC and the Luxury APEC Team using PowerPoint and Canva for internal and external meetings. 
  • Regional Vice President Luxury APEC and the Luxury APEC Team in coordinating projects and initiatives. 
  • Support communication efforts with internal teams and external partners. 
  • Perform general administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings and managing correspondence. 
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather information and support the Regional Vice President Luxury APEC and the Luxury APEC Team for any ad-hoc projects and tasks. 
  • Manage and respond to e-mails in an effective, organized and professional way  
  • Assist supervisor in facilitating appointments, organize meeting schedule and prepare agenda 
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and follow company policies and procedures 
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested 

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Display strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in handling data  
  • Able to handle a fast paced working environment 
  • Be initiative, proactive, creative and have the ability to “think outside the box” 
  • Be responsible, well-organized and systematic in dealing with assignments  
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change and have awareness on different cultures in the region 
  • Have a good command of English – spoken and written. 
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills - able to work in a team  
  • Tech savvy - strong proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARD 

Education:  

Undergraduate in Hospitality Management, Business administration, Social Sciences, Economics or Marketing preferred  

Requirements:

Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass / work holiday pass 

Eligible for undergraduate in a Singapore registered university program / undergraduate or graduate of a university in Singapore, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom or United States. 

Prepared to commit to a six months’ internship 

Grooming:  

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Marriott standards.
