POSITION SUMMARY

 

Meet with managers, department and division heads to discuss staffing needs, recruitment needs, open requisitions, and required/desirable qualifications. Develop learning strategies and plans with management based upon deficiencies identified in a Needs Assessment. Design, develop, and produce training materials (e.g., facilitator/participant workbooks, manuals, brochures, job aids, posters). Prepare for training classes (e.g., materials, setup classes, breakdown classes). Design and create interactive training in various formats. Conduct stand-up training to groups of employees. Monitor and ensure departments are conducting safety training and orientation.

 

Position Purpose

 

The Learning & Development Executive identifies training needs and develops cost effective training initiatives to achieve the hotel's goals, in line with the related Guest Engagement Metrics. They will oversee all Development activities relating to necessary Compliance Trainings, promotion and support of all online trainings, leading of city wide initiatives and Talent Development Programs and support to operations in terms of service offerings. Responsible to ensure Training Budget is prepared, executed and maintained. Ensuring that all St. Regis Hosts are set for success and the position also plays a leading role in promoting the desired work culture around our St. Regis Service Brand Evolution, House Commitments and Promise Statement.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Fully responsible for on brand arrival of all Hosts and first week onboarding training, including all mandatory training for each position;
  • Take the lead in Brand Evolution within the Hotel and ensure Brand Awareness and passion is there from all who represent;
  • Familiarize yourself with the Marriott Learning & Development Standards and tools such as mylearning, Lobsterinc and report pulling functions.
  • Ensure successful promotion and utilization of mylearning by all Hosts. 
  • Conduct quality and brand standard tests on a regular basis, develop (training) action plan based on the results with focus on Guestvoice and LRA Results;
  • Develop an effective annual Training Plan together with the Director of Human Resources which meets the needs of associates as outlined in LPA and which assists the hotel achieve its goals and objectives. Identify from E.S., Guestvoice,  LRA, Tripadvisor and other sources the potential training needs and action where required;
  • Liaise with Department Heads on regular basis regarding specific training requirements within their Departments and regarding attendance at planned training courses and develop training actions as required;
  • Publish an annual, quarterly and monthly calendar of training courses and ensure maximum attendance through clear communication to and liaison with Department Heads on a regular basis.
  • Monitor input of Department Training Reports and calendars and summarize when necessary. 
  • Prepare Off-Job Learning & Development Calendar monthly & communicate 10 days prior to the next month. 
  • Communicate Off-job Learning & Development Calendar & other relevant information (online - Training Nominations list) to departments. 
  • Summarize feedback from internal training course. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.

Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
