JOB SUMMARY

To maintain, repair, install, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all plumbing, water supply, drainage, sewage, hot water, and related systems throughout the resort. The Plumber is responsible for maintaining plumbing systems in guest villas, staff accommodation, back-of-house areas, kitchens, public areas, engineering facilities, and other resort buildings.

The position also supports the operation and maintenance of the RO (Reverse Osmosis) plant, including daily monitoring, coordination with approved service providers, service follow-up, water-quality checks, and maintaining accurate records.

 SCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Experience:

• Should ideally be having an apprenticeship as a Plumber, and previous 3years experiences in the same position

Skills and Knowledge 

• Ability to read and follow blueprints 
• Ability to  use specialized plumbing Tools, equipment, materials and Techniques
• Ability to install, modify and repair all piping systems, fixtures, equipment and ancillaries
• Understanding of maintenance inventory and requisition of plumbing maintenance supplies, as needed.
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.

Education or Certification 

• Minimum should ideally be having an apprenticeship as a Plumber, and 3years previous experience in the same position.

SPECIFIC DUTIES 

Plumbing Systems and Maintenance

• Assemble, install, maintain, inspect, and pressure-test pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing equipment in accordance with approved specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable safety standards.
• Maintain and repair domestic water supply, hot water, drainage, sewage, irrigation, and other plumbing systems throughout the resort.
• Identify the source of plumbing faults and carry out corrective repairs as required or according to approved work orders.
• Install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, water heaters, water softeners, sinks, wash basins, toilets, showers, mixers, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Attend to plumbing complaints and breakdowns in guest villas and resort facilities promptly to minimize guest inconvenience.
• Carry out preventive maintenance of plumbing systems and equipment according to the Engineering trassenpreventive maintenance schedule.
• Inspect plumbing installations and identify potential failures or required repairs before they develop into major problems.
• Ensure all completed plumbing works are properly tested and confirmed to be leak-free and safe for operation.
• Maintain drainage systems and clear blockages using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Support maintenance and upgrade works in guest rooms, villas, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house facilities.

RO Plant and Water Quality

• Have a clear understanding of RO plant operation, associated equipment, and basic troubleshooting requirements.
• Monitor the RO plant and associated water-treatment systems and report any abnormalities immediately to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Carry out daily water-quality testing as required and maintain accurate records of all testing parameters.
• Coordinate with approved RO plant/service contractors for scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing.
• Follow up with service providers to ensure maintenance and repair works are completed within the required time.
• Maintain proper records of RO plant servicing, chemical usage, water-quality testing, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
• Ensure the RO plant and associated equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Report any abnormal water-quality results, equipment failures, leaks, or operational issues to the Engineering Supervisor immediately.

Work Orders and Documentation

• Receive, understand, and complete assigned work orders within the required timeframe.
• Prioritize emergency and guest-related plumbing requests appropriately.
• Record completed work, materials used, equipment condition, and any further action required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required quality and safety standards.
• Ensure work areas are cleaned and returned to their original condition after completion.
• Inform the Engineering Supervisor of any major defects, recurring problems, or work requiring specialist assistance.

Materials, Tools and Equipment

• Select appropriate plumbing materials, fittings, and hardware for assigned work.
• Provide accurate estimates of required materials, manpower, and time when requested.
• Maintain proper control and inventory of Engineering Department plumbing tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials.
• Use hand tools, power tools, pipe benders, cutting equipment, plumbing equipment, and other assigned tools safely and correctly.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are returned, cleaned, and stored properly after use.
• Report damaged, missing, or unsafe tools and equipment to the Engineering Supervisor.

Kitchen and Equipment Support

• Inspect and repair plumbing and water connections associated with kitchen equipment where required.
• Attend to water supply, drainage, and related plumbing issues for dishwashers, kitchen equipment, and other appliances.
• Support other Engineering team members with plumbing-related requirements during maintenance and project works.

Emergency Response

• Respond promptly to emergency plumbing calls, including water leaks, blocked drainage, pipe bursts, sewage issues, and other plumbing emergencies.
• Take immediate action to minimize water damage and disruption to guests and resort operations.
• Isolate water supplies where necessary and inform the Engineering Supervisor of major incidents.
• Support the Engineering team during emergency situations and operational requirements.

Safety Responsibilities

• Follow all resort safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment in accordance with approved safety procedures.
• Ensure all plumbing equipment and systems are in safe operating condition.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when carrying out assigned duties.
• Follow safe working procedures when lifting, climbing, working at height, entering restricted areas, or working with hot water and plumbing equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Immediately correct unsafe conditions where possible and report any condition that cannot be corrected to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Follow all applicable environmental, health, safety, and hygiene requirements of the resort.

Teamwork and Guest Service

• Work closely with the Engineering Supervisor, Duty Engineer, Engineering team, and other departments to ensure smooth resort operations.
• Coordinate with Duty Supervisors and other trades to complete maintenance projects and corrective works.
• Provide professional and courteous service when working in guest villas, guest areas, and public areas.
• Protect guest privacy and resort property while carrying out maintenance activities.
• Minimize noise, disruption, and inconvenience to guests during maintenance work.
• Support colleagues during staff shortages, emergencies, special projects, and high-workload periods.
• Maintain a professional appearance and behavior in accordance with resort standards.

Other Duties as Assigned

• Carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Engineering management.
• Provide support to other maintenance trades when required, including during staff shortages, emergencies, projects, and major maintenance activities.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to perform duties outside the normal plumbing trade when required to support the operational needs of the resort.
• Participate in resort projects, renovations, preventive maintenance programs, and guest-room/villa upgrade works as required.

Equipment Used

The Plumber may be required to operate and work with:

• Hand and power tools
• Pipe cutters and pipe benders
• Plumbing testing equipment
• Drain-cleaning equipment and sewer rooter
• Welding and cutting equipment, where authorized and trained
• Propane/gas torch, where authorized and trained
• Water-pressure testing equipment
• Pumps and water-treatment equipment
• Ladders and access equipment
• Other Engineering Department tools and equipment as required

Key Performance Expectations

• Complete assigned work orders within the required timeframe.
• Maintain high-quality plumbing workmanship.
• Minimize recurring plumbing failures through effective troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate RO plant and water-testing records.
• Respond promptly to guest and emergency plumbing requests.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and resort standards.
• Work effectively as part of the Engineering team.
• Contribute to energy and water conservation initiatives across the resort.
