Sales Manager - Reactive

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sales Manager – Reactive is responsible for managing all international and Local MICE, corporate, and leisure segments sales enquiries and converting them into confirmed business for the hotel. This role communicates directly with clients, prepares proposals and contracts, and ensures accurate turnover of confirmed events and bookings to the Events and Operations teams. The position plays a key role in maximizing revenue, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering exceptional service throughout the sales process. The Sales Manager – Reactive collaborates closely with Proactive Sales, Revenue Management, and Events to support property-wide commercial goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Conversion & Lead Management

  • Respond promptly to all inbound enquiries, RFPs, and leads to maximize conversion opportunities.
  • Prepare and issue quotations ,proposals, and contracts, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow up consistently with clients to close business and achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date information in CRM systems, including pipeline, account details, and revenue forecasts.
  • Conduct site inspections, client meetings, and property tours as required.

Event Turnover & Coordination

  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely turnover of confirmed bookings to Event Management and Operations.
  • Communicate all relevant event details, client expectations, and contracted commitments clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in pre-event meetings when necessary to support service delivery.

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage existing accounts, nurture relationships, and encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during the enquiry and contracting stage, ensuring professional and service-driven communication.
  • Provide tailored solutions that meet client needs while aligning with hotel capabilities.

Collaboration & Internal Support

  • Work collaboratively with Proactive Sales, Revenue, and Event teams to align strategies and maximize overall hotel revenue.
  • Support team initiatives, departmental goals, and hotel-wide sales efforts as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, briefings, and sales activities.

Market Awareness & Product Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel room products, F&B offerings, meeting facilities, packages, and promotions.
  • Stay informed about competitor offerings to strengthen proposals and improve conversion rates.
  • Provide feedback on market trends and clients need to support strategic planning.

Service Excellence

  • Uphold the hotel’s service standards in every client interaction.
  • Ensure the sales process reflects the hotel’s brand values, professionalism, and commitment to guest satisfaction.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years of experience in sales, reservations, events, or account management, ideally within hospitality.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Tourism and Hospitality or related field
  • Strong ability to convert Groups and Events enquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with local and international and local MICE, corporate, and leisure segments.
  • Strong presentation skills for client tours and meetings.
  • Must have valid working rights in Fiji.
