The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
• Achieves catering and guest room revenue goals by developing and implementing sales strategies.
• Contacts potential business in local market through appointments or cold calls to meet call productivity and revenue.
• Contacts group business to determine guest rooms and catering needs.
• Clarifies guest requirements and suggests alternative menus, themes, etc.
• Meets overall budgeted sales and profitability margin by soliciting, evaluating, selling, and confirming business.
• Prepares proposals for clients which outline details of proposed functions, coordinates preparation of estimates with other food and beverage departments, collects payment in a timely manner.
• Qualifies prospective leads as to profitability.
• Negotiates with client to achieve maximum profit while satisfying client needs.
• Approves function space allocation for group and catering needs.
• Creates group resumes, House Accounts in PMS, oversees and inputs rooming lists in PMS.
• Ensures customer satisfaction and hotel profit by overseeing the coordination of various departments’ activities related to booking business.
• Meets and greets existing and potential clients to make sure their expectations are met, ensuring that routine sales duties are accomplished.
• Creates a positive work environment for all employees.
• Implements strategies to improve market penetration.
• Utilizes CYM Sales Program techniques.
• Responds to sales leads via Cevent and One Source.
• Provides room rates to potential accounts via MarRFP.
• Designs and proposes programs to increase the volume of sales and to meet client’s needs.
• Negotiates sales of catering functions and guest rooms.
• Meets and exceeds guest and team member expectations by providing exceptional service and teamwork.
• Provides value added service to guests by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed guest expectations.
• Communicates effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed.
• Handles difficult situations effectively.
• Performs other duties as required to meet CYM mission to “Enable people to make life on the road better”.
• Facilitates execution of function by providing departments responsible for executing the function with the function specifications.
• Maintains and submits complete activity reports to the Director of Sales with personal calls, site tours, luncheons, and proposal letters outlined actual vs. goals.
• Works with clients from the Catering and Sales Departments detailing function requirements.
• Shops competitive facilities to record what groups are meeting at these individual facilities.
• Uses records of competitive facilities to assign follow-up solicitation.
• Attend and participate in weekly staff meeting and daily Basic of the Day training.
• Attend and participate in daily, weekly sales meetings with GM and DOS.
• Attend and participate in weekly revenue management meeting.
• Performs duties of MOD as scheduled.
• Participates in community activities, employee functions and guest events.
• Strive to improve your knowledge of skills in hotel sales and any other related areas within the hotel business, which are of interest.
• Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures.
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
• Maintains favorable working relationship with all other company associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious work environment.
• At all times projects a favorable image of competence and professionalism of CYM to guests, co-workers, vendor, and management staff.
1-MINIMUM TWO-YEAR EXPERIENCE IN SALES AND CATERING.
BI-WEEKLY PAYMENT, PTO ACCRUAL, $15,000.00 LIFE INSURANCE POLICY, FREE EMPLOYEE MEAL, 401K PLAN AVAILABLE, MEDICAL INSURANCE AVAILABLE FOR A FEE, OVERTIME PAY. $24 TO $26 HOURLY
The hourly pay range for this position is $24.00 to $26.00.
