Job Summary:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase bookings and revenue for Mapito Safari Camp.
- Build, manage, and grow relationships with Destination Management
- Companies (DMCs), tour operators, travel agents, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities within the local and international leisure market.
- Conduct regular sales calls, meetings, presentations, and site inspections for potential and existing partners.
- Represent Mapito Safari Camp at trade shows, networking events, roadshows, and other industry events where appropriate.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations tailored to client needs and market segments.
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and commercial agreements in line with company objectives.
- Maintain a strong sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up on all leads and opportunities.
- Manage and continuously update the company’s sales database with a strategic and analytical approach.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform business development strategies.
- Collaborate closely with reservations, marketing, operations, and camp management to ensure alignment between sales efforts and guest experience delivery.
- Produce regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates for management.
- Consistently achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and revenue goals.
- Minimum 3 years of proven sales experience within the DMC and leisure travel market in Arusha.
- Degree/Diploma qualification would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of the Tanzanian tourism and hospitality industry.
- Existing network of relevant trade partners, including DMCs, tour operators, and travel agents.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic sales mindset.
- Experience in database management, pipeline tracking, and account segmentation.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales tracking tools.
- Fluent in English; Kiswahili is an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
