 POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Cluster Procurement – EMEA is a senior leadership role responsible for driving procurement excellence across all procurement clusters within Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Reporting to the Vice President, Procurement – EMEA, this role plays a critical part in delivering the continent’s procurement strategy across both managed and franchised hotels, advancing sourcing and contracting capabilities, and enhancing overall financial performance.

This position acts as a key connector between the Procurement discipline and regional operations leadership, ensuring alignment across a highly matrixed and geographically dispersed organization. The role partners closely with Finance, Lodging Products Organization, regional leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver performance-driven solutions that optimize procurement operations and support sustainable business growth.

In addition, the role is responsible for shaping external partnership strategies, including engagement with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and regional suppliers, ensuring Marriott’s procurement model remains competitive, scalable, and value-driven across the region.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Cluster Procurement Leadership & Execution

  • Lead GPO strategy across EMEA, ensuring alignment with continent-wide procurement objectives
  • Drive sourcing and contracting activities across clusters, optimizing supplier value and operational efficiency
  • Identify and execute opportunities to leverage scale across clusters to maximize savings and performance
  • Partner closely with Category Management and regional vendor teams to align sourcing strategies
  • Collaborate with hotel leaders, owners, and cross-functional teams to drive adoption and compliance of procurement initiatives

Strategy Deployment & Operational Excellence

  • Translate procurement strategy into clear cluster-level execution plans, KPIs, and governance frameworks
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging new tools, technologies, and innovative approaches
  • Support rollout of procurement platforms, including Procure-to-Pay optimization and e-procurement adoption
  • Challenge existing processes and lead transformation efforts to enhance operational efficiency

Financial Performance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with regional leadership, Finance, and hotel teams to improve financial performance through procurement optimization
  • Monitor savings delivery, compliance levels, and supplier performance across clusters
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with owners and stakeholders to support long-term value creation
  • Support supplier diversity initiatives and ensure alignment with broader procurement strategies

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multicultural procurement organization across EMEA
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and capability building
  • Implement structured training programs to strengthen procurement expertise across teams
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and compliance
  • Address performance challenges and lead with clarity and confidence to drive results

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in Procurement or related disciplines
  • Proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in large, international, matrixed organizations
  • Strong track record in cost optimization, supplier management, and procurement strategy execution across multiple markets
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead change across diverse geographies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, or Hospitality preferred
