The Senior Director, Finance Business Partner role is central to supporting the short and long-term strategic growth of the Greater China Continent. Reporting to the Vice President Finance, Controllership Greater China, the Senior Director will be the primary point of contact for all questions, concerns, analytical requests, and information relating to the Finance Business Partner (FBP) Organization. The FBP Organization will provide support for Consumer Revenue and Luxury (CRL), Global Design, Preopening Services, Reservation, Information Technology and Learning & Development. This position will serve as the finance business partner in cross-functional global and continent initiatives, with deliverables including holistic business reviews, business planning, financial analysis / modeling, and recommendation to key stakeholders in the organization. The Senior Director, Finance Business Partner position will help drive opportunities and key initiatives by leveraging both qualitative methods and quantitativ.

Knowledge and Skills
- Strong business and critical thinking skills and financial acumen with proven analytical and problem-solving experience. Demonstrate aptitude to consult and diagnose issues, problem solve and implement plans to drive solutions.
- Good strategic and commercial business skills and a passion for using data to drive better decision making
- Strong communication skills. Ability to articulate operating and financial results concisely to peers and senior leaders within and outside of the Finance organization. Capability to lead and influence senior executives around business issues.
- Maintains positive business climate while cultivating a fast-paced, high-growth environment that effectively balances entrepreneurial creativity, in which individuals are strong performers who are given clear direction and goals and held accountable for achieving them.
- Strong computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Hyperion, and Peoplesoft Financial Application highly preferred. Familiarity with Marriott International back office systems (SUN Infor Accounting, Micros Point-of-Sales, Birchstreet, Materials Control) a plus.
- Excellent skills in very complex analytic problem solving, strategic planning, program development, project management, change management and group process. Ability to organize large volumes of data to create a synthesized, meaningful analysis.
- Exceptional organizational skills and effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments.
- Self-starter with strong tendency toward pro-active process improvement.
Minimum Job Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting, or related field. MBA preferred but not required.
- Minimum eight years of managerial experience with proficiency in business analytics, financial planning, and project management. Finance and Accounting experience in the hospitality or related industries preferred.
Core Work Activities
- Develop, supervise, and execute finance and operational initiatives in alignment to the Greater China Continent and Global short and long range strategic planning targets. Manages all steps of major projects or processes and adjusts planned approach as required.
- Actively monitors operational and financial performance to anticipate and meet the needs of leadership. Applies thorough understanding of key business processes to effectively anticipate and address the longer-term implications of decisions/actions.
- Provides proactive support to the continent to ensure the appropriate focus and resources are utilized in order to maximize value and reduce exposure for Marriott International.
- A Finance Business Partner to the CRL organization, providing analytical support for execution of key priorities for Greater China Continent. Evaluate business trends and identify opportunities to achieve business objectives.
- A Finance Business Partner to the IT and L&D organizations, providing analytical support for financial reporting and planning and providing financial advice for various projects within these organization.
- A Finance Business Partner to the Global Design organizations over project accounting, budgeting and forecasting, billing and AR management. Identify opportunities to increase profits and create value by challenging existing processes and driving change related to Global Design, maintaining balance of workforce between in-house associates and consultants.
- Create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change.
- Participate in continent-wide and cross-functional initiatives to support a variety of projects with different types of scope.
- Partner with Headquarters and other continents to share knowledge, best practices, and leverage tools.
- Work closely with CRL, entity accounting, compliance, HR and project teams in continent and HQ.
- Proactively explore internal and external tools, services, resources, and platforms to drive efficiencies in operating procedures, to the extent that benefits not only the Finance but other organizations in the company. Drives for changes in work products and processes that will improve departmental efficiencies and effectiveness.
