JOB SUMMARY 

The Senior Manager leads and orchestrates Marriott Development’s presence at conferences, tradeshows, and signature events that strengthen relationships and advance the development strategy. This role designs and delivers high-impact experiences—both virtual and in person—including leadership forums, team meetings, client and owner events, and charitable initiatives. 

 

Serving as the central project manager for all internal and external events, the Senior Manager ensures flawless execution from concept to completion, with clear communication, disciplined timelines, and seamless coordination across stakeholders. 

 

As the primary liaison to owners and franchisees, the role champions an exceptional partner experience—anticipating needs and delivering thoughtful, high-touch support before, during, and after each event.  

 

The Senior Manager also supports sales training logistics, manages event-related budgets, and collaborates with international teams to share best practices and elevate event execution across global markets. 

 

This is a hybrid HQ position and requires up to 75% travel. 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE  

Education and Experience  

 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University  
  • 4 years experience in business, sales and marketing, hotel operations, or related professional area.  

Preferred 

  • Global event planning or conference experience 
  • Familiarity with event management technology platforms  

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES  

  • Develops and oversees the annual event strategy, ensuring optimal use of budget and alignment with key business initiatives and priority brands. 
  • Leads conference planning, including coordinating logistics with conference contacts, booth planning and set up, meeting room set up and F&B, registrations, room blocks, and on-site lead for execution of the conferences and budget tracking. 
  • Serves as the key contact and communications lead, ensuring development team and key discipline partners are fully informed of event programming and logistics to support seamless coordination and execution. 
  • Manages all planning and onsite execution for conference related parties, including guest tracking, RSVPs, and attendance monitoring to ensure a well coordinated and engaging experience. 
  • Organizes and manages all logistics for high-profile owner events, serving as the primary liaison to keep owners informed of activities and ensuring every detail is handled to deliver a seamless, exceptional experience. 
  • Learns and leverages the Cvent event management platform, ensuring effective, knowledgeable, and optimized use of its tools to enhance event planning and execution. 
  • Manages third party vendors for booth development, marketing assets and creative 
  • Project manages all creative development and event deliverables, ensuring assets are produced accurately, on time, and aligned with upcoming event needs. 
  • Serves as the primary liaison with the Partnerships team, ensuring Development has clear opportunities to leverage partnership assets to enhance owner experiences. 
  • Supports the team with internal sales training – logistics and planning. 
  • Organizes and maintains actual and forecast reporting for Marriott Select Brands (MSB) and Full Service budgets, tracks spending and processes invoices; manages marketing budgets  
  • Shares best practices and learnings from events across global markets as an active contributor within the broader international network. 
  • Informs, updates, and provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person in a timely manner. 
  • Attends and participates in all relevant meetings. 
  • Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise, organized manner. 
  • Uses problem solving methodology for decision making and follow up. 
  • Maintains positive working relations with internal customers and department managers.
