Senior Product Owner, End User Hardware, OS and VDI
Marriott International HQJob Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Owner to join the End User Computing team that will focus on the hardware, operating systems, and virtual desktop infrastructure used across Marriott International. Reporting to the Senior Director, Associate Technology, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and driving the development of end-user computing hardware, operating systems (OS), and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of user needs, market trends, and technological advancements to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or equivalent combination of education/experience
7+ years of experience in Information Technology including:
Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in the technology industry, with a focus on end-user computing hardware, operating systems, and VDI solutions
Demonstrated understanding of product management principles and prior experience with SAFe agile methodologies, and user-centered design
In-depth knowledge of end-user computing hardware, operating systems, and VDI technologies
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively in a matrix-managed environment.
Demonstrated ability to assess customer needs, creatively approach solutions, and decide and influence appropriate courses of action
Ability to deliver results under challenging conditions, particularly when faced with complexity, ambiguity, and aggressive timelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and other IT teams.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to define product roadmaps and operate effectively across multiple priorities.
Preferred:
5+ years Product\Program management experience leading or managing platforms within a large, global organization.
3+ years of demonstrated Product and/or Strategy experience.
3+ years of experience managing third party and contract labor
Ability to understand and navigate complex user and technical discussions, architectures, and dependent solutions.
Demonstrated success leading large-scale information technology initiatives/transformations
Understanding of Marriott infrastructure ecosystem is a plus
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES:
Product Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for end-user computing hardware, operating systems, and VDI solutions. Products include laptops, workstations, printers, peripherals, Windows and Apple operating systems, and Microsoft W365 virtual platforms.
Roadmap Planning: Create and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer needs.
Asset Management: Oversee hardware and operating system asset management activities, including end-of-life processes, device certification, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies. Formalize tracking and metrics for device and operating system lifecycles and policies.
Backlog Management: Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that development efforts are focused on delivering the highest value features and improvements.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor product performance and user satisfaction, and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, service providers and business teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
User Research: Conduct user research and gather feedback to understand user needs and pain points, and incorporate this information into product development.
Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and development.
