Joao’s Place is a destination bar in its own right with a private terrace overlooking Calton Hill and the Firth of Forth, serving curated cocktails and bar snacks.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the General Manager - Sushisamba,  the Bars Supervisor will support the Head Bartender with the daily operation of the bar, ensuring the bar team works together to provide exceptional service to our guests.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, a people-person and passionate about what they do!

As Bars Supervisor, key aspects of your role will include:

• Help to recruit and retain the best talent on the market
• Assist in designing the beverage menu of the W Lounge, in partnership with the Head Bartender
• Develop teamwork throughout your team as it grows
• Be a W brand ambassador, ensuring the brand’s voice is present in your interactions with guests and talent
• Lead by example, displaying the highest standards of hospitality to guests and talent
• Ensure compliance with all liquor laws and licensing
• Maintain food hygiene and sanitation standards
• Work in collaboration with the wider Beverage and Food team to ensure a successful operation that upholds the high standards our guests have grown to expect.

Our ideal Bars Supervisor is someone who has:

• Previous experience working in high-end, high-volume restaurants and/or hotels
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to create memorable experiences for guests
• The ability to lead, mentor and motivate others
• A positive mindset
• A genuine passion for working in hospitality
