The Systems Manager is responsible to the property for all technology planning, decision-making, implementation, and maintenance. Interfaces with vendors, owners, Executive Committee and property staff. Is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems, data and voice communications activities at property. Executes hotel and corporate systems strategies.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Must possess the legal right to work in Italy and have fluency in Italian and English.
Education and Experience
University or College degree – major in IT
Five years of experience in hotel IT
Minimum two years of experience as IT Manager
Project Management and knowledge of hospitality applications, PMS, HSIA, POS are assets.
System-related professional certifications desired.

Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to all levels of management.
Must be able to assist hotel guests with technical requirements and issues.
Must be able to provide high levels of service and support to admin users as per contracted Service Level Agreement.
Ensuring Client Technology Needs are Met
• Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding technology/asset life-cycles. Verifies that necessary property is properly equipped in terms of PCs, hardware, servers, etc.
• Foresees, identifies and resolves system(s) performance problems.
• Verifies property’s technology assets are secure and maintained in accordance with Marriott International policies and standards.
• Possesses advanced knowledge in the areas of data communications, desktop support, and servers/networks.
• Uses computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
• Monitors, ensures and manages the acquisition and maintenance of property-based systems.
• Analyzes information, identifies current and potential problems and proposes solutions.
• Inspects and ensures the maintenance of the equipment or the environment.
• Ensures that computer and network operations are monitored at the property, backup/recovery functions are performed on scheduled basis and administration functions for hardware, operating and application systems are maintained and completed on consistent basis.
• Manages IR activities to ensure the property infrastructure and applications systems are functional at all times.
• Ensures solutions are consistent with the client's needs and brand specific IR environment.
• Administers and maintains mail and email.
• Maintains inventories and manages IT hardware/software.
• Provides Internet support and maintenance (if applicable)
• Provides cable management support.
• Generates systems communications for property users to introduce new applications, provide user tips, alert users of system problems and inform staff of progress or status.
• Consults on specific application issues or hardware/software problems.
• Provides feedback to Lodging IR on application functional performance and system performance.
Forecasting and Complying with Financial Parameters
• Manages technology profit and loss. Responsible for monitoring and controlling all technology-impacted revenues and expenses generated by the property including, but not limited to: telecommunications, HSIA, business center technologies and A/V.
• Verifies that property management has realistically budgeted CAPEX and department operating budgets based on anticipated IT projects and property support/needs requirements.
• Advises and verifies that property management has adequately addressed technology needs in short- and long-term planning.
• Reviews vendor proposals and selects appropriate vendor for technologies/hardware together with DoF.
Building Successful Relationships
• Communicates IR standards and best practices.
• Is expected to present proposals, analyses, projects, cost-models, etc. in a well- written and/or verbally articulate manner.
• Is viewed as a credible leader by subordinates, peers, and senior management.
• Provides exceptional customer service.
Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities
• Responsible for hiring, training, development, compensation, performance management of direct reports.
Managing Projects and Policies
• Functions as on-site project manager who plans and manages both new systems and system upgrades for property site.
• Performs assessments of needs ensuring compliance with budget, standards.
• Determines priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to ensure completion of property projects on schedule and according to specification.
• Prepares project plans and monitors on-site.
• Directs maintenance of equipment and installed software applications inventory for property ensuring compliance with licensing regulations.
• Responsible for property compliance with appropriate Marriott International Policy and Information Security Manual. Accountable to take action to address deficiencies. Determines solutions and implements per SOP.
• Provides timely, accurate, and detailed status reports as requested.

• Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
• Performs an assessment of needs, ensuring compliance with brand specific standards, budget and capital requirements.
• Determines priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to ensure completion of any property projects on schedule and according to specification.
• Ensures problems are correctly reported, routed, tracked and solved, with the system user being informed of situation at all times.
• Ensures proper asset management.
• Performs on-site monitoring of all projects.
• Ensures that regular on-going communication is happening in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives and communicates expectations, recognizes performance and produces desired business results.
