JOB SUMMARY

 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist, APEC supports recruitment delivery across Asia Pacific excluding China through a blend of proactive sourcing, talent mapping, candidate engagement, recruitment operations, reporting, and process improvement. The role independently manages assigned sourcing and coordination activities, partners with recruiters and hiring stakeholders across multiple markets, and provides data-informed talent insights to support current and future hiring needs. 

 

Based in Gurgaon, the Specialist works across APEC time zones and contributes to a consistent, efficient, and positive candidate and stakeholder experience.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. 
  • Typically 3 or more years of experience in talent acquisition, sourcing, recruitment operations, HR coordination, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple vacancies, stakeholders, or markets in a fast-paced and service-oriented environment. 
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system, LinkedIn Recruiter, candidate databases, job boards, and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Hospitality, travel, shared-services, or another customer-focused industry background is advantageous. 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

Talent Sourcing, Mapping and Pipeline Management 

  • Partner with recruiters and hiring stakeholders to clarify role requirements, target profiles, search priorities, and expected timelines. 
  • Independently conduct talent research, competitor mapping, market scans, and targeted searches for assigned roles or talent segments. 
  • Source and engage active and passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, internal databases, job boards, referrals, social channels, industry networks, and other relevant channels. 
  • Use AI-enabled sourcing tools to broaden reach and improve search quality. 
  • Complete initial profile review and screening against agreed criteria, document findings, and recommend suitable prospects for recruiter consideration. 
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical, recurring, pre-opening, and future workforce needs across APEC. 
  • Maintain purposeful engagement with prospects and talent communities to support conversion and future opportunities. 
  • Provide clear updates on search progress, talent availability, market observations, pipeline risks, and recommended next steps. 

Recruitment Delivery and Candidate Management 

  • Own assigned recruitment activities from requisition posting through candidate progression and pre-employment processing, in partnership with the responsible recruiter. 
  • Create and maintain accurate job postings in accordance with approved content, brand standards, and process requirements. 
  • Manage applicant records and recruitment stages in the applicant tracking system, ensuring timely updates, accurate dispositioning, and strong data integrity. 
  • Coordinate interviews and recruitment logistics across multiple countries and time zones, anticipating dependencies and following through on outstanding actions. 
  • Facilitate candidate communications, assessments, reference checks, background or pre-employment checks, and required hiring documentation. 
  • Resolve routine candidate, process, or system issues directly and escalate higher-risk or policy-sensitive matters with clear context and proposed options. 
  • Support onboarding handoffs and ensure recruitment records, trackers, and folders are complete and audit-ready. 

Stakeholder Partnership and Service Delivery 

  • Build effective working relationships with Talent Acquisition, HR, Talent Management, hiring managers, candidates, and relevant support teams. 
  • Coordinate recruitment progress reviews, capture decisions and actions, and proactively follow up to keep hiring activity moving. 
  • Provide practical guidance on recruitment processes, tools, candidate status, and service expectations within the scope of the role. 
  • Balance multiple stakeholder priorities while maintaining responsive, professional, and culturally aware communication. 
  • Contribute to an inclusive candidate experience and consistent recruitment standards across diverse APEC markets. 

Reporting, Insights and Continuous Improvement 

  • Prepare and maintain sourcing reports, recruitment dashboards, pipeline summaries, pre-opening trackers, and other operational reporting. 
  • Monitor assigned deliverables against agreed timelines, flag exceptions early, and propose recovery actions. 
  • Identify recurring process gaps and recommend practical improvements to sourcing approaches, workflows, templates, communications, and candidate experience. 
  • Support testing, adoption, and documentation of new recruitment tools, automation, and process changes. 
  • Contribute to regional Talent Acquisition, workforce planning, insourcing, pre-opening, and special projects as assigned. 

Talent Attraction and Communications 

  • Create recruitment marketing materials, talent attraction content, outreach messages, and recruitment flyers aligned with Marriott brand standards. 
  • Tailor candidate outreach to the target audience while maintaining an accurate and consistent employer value proposition. 

 

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES 

  • Strong sourcing, research, talent mapping, and candidate engagement capability. 
  • Working knowledge of end-to-end talent acquisition processes, including sourcing, screening, candidate management, assessment coordination, and pre-employment activity. 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, prioritise independently, and take ownership of defined workstreams and outcomes. 
  • High level of organisation, accuracy, follow-through, and attention to detail while managing competing priorities. 
  • Confident stakeholder and candidate communication skills, with a collaborative and customer-focused approach. 
  • Comfort working in a matrixed, cross-cultural environment across multiple countries and time zones. 
  • Proactive, resourceful, curious, adaptable, and comfortable learning new systems and ways of working. 
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter or equivalent sourcing tools, and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Excellent written and spoken English; additional APEC language capability is advantageous.
