Trainee Junior Therapist

Gain hands-on experience and professional qualifications in a luxury spa environment.

One Spa is offering a unique traineeship programme that allows you to gain two professional qualifications in just three months! Through a combination of intensive training at our academy and hands-on experience in our luxury spa, you’ll earn a Level 3 Massage Qualification and a Level 2 Facial Qualification CIBTAC qualification while working alongside industry experts getting first hand experience of life in a 5* spa. CIBTAC is a qualification known internationally and is globally recognized. Meaning you can take your qualification anywhere in the world in the future. 

Once qualified, you’ll secure a permanent, full time Spa Therapist role at One Spa for a minimum contract of 18 months post qualification. This opportunity is open to anyone with a passion for wellness and spa therapy. No previous experience is required — whether you’re looking for a career change, starting your professional journey, or keen to learn new skills while earning, we welcome applications from individuals who are enthusiastic and motivated to build a career in the spa industry.

Overview:

Training will begin at The Academy in Glasgow with five days of Level 2 facial training. You will then return to One Spa for five days of practical treatments on models to build your skills and confidence. After this, you will go back to the Academy for five days of Level 3 massage training.

You will then return to One Spa for eight weeks to complete a structured workplace development plan, supported by an experienced therapist. During this time, you will continue practising treatments on models while also gaining experience in other key areas of the business, including duty manager, attendant and receptionist roles, giving you a well-rounded understanding of One Spa and the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh.

Following the training plan, you will return to the academy to complete your CIBTAC assessment for both practical and theory. 

Total Practical Training: 10 days (5 days per qualification) Blended Learning: 8–10 weeks online learning and workplace integration Final Assessment: Submitted to CIBTAC for certification
