Accounting Officer
Kuala Lumpur OfficeJOB SUMMARY
- To assist accounting work for both Starwood and Marriott Malaysia legal entities.
- To assist finance function, help up with the daily operations and ensure all accounting records are properly maintained.
- To assist with the budgeting process
- To assist on the monthly management accounts and adhere to tight deadlines submission to APEC office. Share monthly finance performance (Profit & Loss Account) to participating hotels and attend to Hotels’ queries on financial statements.
- Manage cash flow, perform monthly bank reconciliation and liaise with bank.
- Communicate regularly with other departments on finance related matters to ensure consistent compliance with corporate policy.
- Highlight the variance on budget versus actual result on regular basis and suggest/implement action plan to ensure budget/forecast is met.
- Manage expenses for Malaysia cluster marketing team, SEA region Digital & Loyalty and Partnership marketing.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliation and ensure adjusting journal entries are posted timely.
- To assist company audits, taxation and company secretary.
- Maintain & manage equipment listing.
- Liaise with vendor and make sure prompt payment on periodic basis.
- Work closely with department heads on contracting, service delivery and performance delivery.
- Submission of adhoc reports required from APEC office timely.
- Handle Human Resources (HR) administrative job such as leave tracker update, timesheet compilation, update medical record & others. Act as a coordinator between associates & HR APEC department.
- Able to work under minimum supervision.
- Handle ad hoc operations issues/projects/assignments.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- Diploma in Accounting and/or professional qualifications in Accounting (ACCA, CPA, CA)
- At least 3 years of experience in similar Finance/Accounting role
- Experience with accounting software such as Peoplesoft will be advantageous
