Located on the scenic campus of NC State University and part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, the StateView Hotel blends collegiate spirit with modern sophistication. We are seeking a results-driven Director of Finance to join our Executive Leadership Team and oversee all aspects of financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality finance leader to join a fast-growing management company and play a key role in shaping the success of one of Raleigh’s premier hotels.
 
The Position
 
Reporting directly to the General Manager, and working closely with the Senior Vice President of Hotel Accounting and Regional Director of Finance, the Director of Finance will lead the hotel’s Finance and Accounting team. This executive-level role requires strong technical skills, strategic insight, and a hands-on leadership style to ensure the financial integrity and performance of the property.
 
You’ll be part of the hotel’s Executive Committee, collaborating with department heads to deliver on both operational excellence and financial results. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasts, P&Ls, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow reports.
  • Coordinate the hotel’s annual budget and work with the Executive Team to develop forecasts that align with property goals.
  • Analyze financial results and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee all internal financial controls related to cash handling, purchasing, disbursements, credit, inventories, payroll, and asset protection.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as with GAAP, FLSA, 11th Edition Uniform System of Accounts, and internal SOPs.
  • Prepare for and lead internal audits and support external audits as required.
  • Partner with the property’s ownership group and Pyramid Global’s corporate finance team to deliver transparency and timely reporting.
  • Manage and develop the on-site finance team, including accounting, A/P, A/R, and payroll staff.
  • Actively contribute as a key member of the Executive Committee, helping drive the hotel’s overall success through sound financial leadership.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or Business required.
  • Minimum 3 years of hotel accounting leadership experience, with at least 1 year as a Director of Finance/Controller at a similar-sized full-service hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel systems, financial controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing multi-outlet operations (e.g., rooms, F&B, catering, etc.).
  • Proficiency in hotel PMS (Opera), POS (Micros), Business intelligence system (Profitsword), and Financial system (Microsoft Dynamic 365 Finance and Operations); ability to extract and synthesize data across systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance team.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and cash flow management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Marriott brand experience is preferred but not required.
 
The compensation for this position is $85,000.00/Yr. – $90,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
