Job Description
Director of Sales

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Director of Sales to lead the development and implementation of the hotel's total sales efforts. This role involves securing new accounts, maintaining existing relationships, supervising sales personnel, and executing marketing strategies to maximize hotel profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.

What will you do?

Sales Leadership:

Solicit business across multiple market segments through tele-prospecting and outside sales calls.
Maintain and nurture existing client relationships to develop future business opportunities.
Develop and manage group business sales, including room bookings, F&B sales, and catering services.
Lead and motivate the sales team to implement effective strategies and exceed sales goals.
Supervise and guide the sales department, ensuring consistent alignment with business objectives.
 

Client Engagement:

Attend networking events, trade shows, and conventions to promote the hotel and generate leads.
Conduct site tours and maintain an up-to-date customer database via Hotel Sales Pro.
Regularly work past and potential group files to generate repeat business.
 

Revenue Management:

Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and update the hotel business plan, focusing on sales goals and strategies.
Participate in sales/revenue meetings to review performance, discuss VIP arrivals, and address business opportunities.
Monitor departmental budgets and analyze revenue reports to ensure profitability.
 

Marketing & Promotions:

Create promotional programs, point-of-sale materials, and sales blitzes to drive occupancy and revenue.
Develop innovative strategies to capitalize on market trends and meet client needs.
 

Guest Experience:

Take every opportunity to amaze guests by ensuring efficient and courteous service in line with company standards.
Collaborate with all departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences and satisfaction.
 

Team Development:

Hire, train, and guide new sales associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide updates, and share feedback.
Participate in the Manager on Duty program to support overall hotel operations.
 

Operational Excellence:

Coordinate with the Rooms Division to manage inventory effectively and maximize revenue.
Maintain close communication with accounting to minimize account receivables.
Report room numbers against budget and profit projections to the General Manager, identifying and implementing corrective actions as needed.
 

About you:

Experience:
Previous sales experience within the hospitality industry required.
Knowledge of Hotel Sales Pro is preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
 

Physical Requirements:

Most tasks are performed indoors, with occasional outside sales calls.
Ability to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Requires lifting up to 15 lbs occasionally, as well as standing, walking, and bending.
Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, fax machines, printers, and calculators.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
Professional appearance and adherence to company standards.
Regular attendance and participation in scheduled meetings and training sessions.
