FLEX Director - Digital Experiments - Conversion Rate Optimization
Marriott International HQThe Director of Digital Experimentation for Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) is a strategic leader responsible for scaling a culture of continuous learning and data-driven decision-making across Marriott’s global digital ecosystem. This role is central to shaping how we leverage experimentation to uncover insights, optimize customer journeys, and deliver incremental growth in bookings and revenue.
The Director will partner closely with cross-functional teams to define, orchestrate, and elevate test strategies that drive measurable business impact. This includes guiding A/B and multivariate testing, merchandising effectiveness, personalization initiatives, and customer experience research—while serving as a thought leader on digital optimization across the enterprise specific to CRO efforts.
The Director effects change at operational, tactical, and strategic levels across Marriott’s digital organization; core responsibility include:
- Lead, inspire, and optimize a high-performing team of Marriott associates and consultants
- Influence decision-making by identifying friction and opportunity areas using a blend of qualitative and quantitative inputs
- Leverage Agile best practices to scale experimentation
- Accelerate velocity of experimentation across squads by embedding best practices, enabling tools, and cross-functional playbooks
- Build systems of record for experimentation and data collection
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience; 2+ years in digital optimization, experimentation, or product performance analytics
- Hands-on expertise delivering initiatives in Agile or fast-paced digital environments
- Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience crafting data-driven presentations
Preferred:
- Hands-on expertise with experimentation platforms such as Adobe Target, Optimizely, or Maxymiser
- Understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Track record of managing complex cross-functional initiatives from concept to implementation
- High level of analytical and problem-solving capability to resolve ambiguous and complex challenges
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and team leadership instincts in matrixed or enterprise environments
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

- Maintain robust documentation of data sources, experimental variables and results
- Translate enterprise goals into well-defined hypotheses and testable constructs
- Diagnose and resolve implementation issues in collaboration with QA and engineering
- Monitor and mitigate cross-experiment interactions and code-level dependencies
Be creative and agile:
- Apply Scrum or related frameworks to embed experimentation processes within Agile product workflows and optimize team velocity and test throughout
- Create customer-driven stories based on results and illustrated with visualizations
- Support strategic planning, quarterly PI planning, and continuous improvement across Digital Performance
- Develop repeatable heuristics, methods, tools and technologies that improve experiment accuracy, velocity, and robustness
Be a great leader of others:
- Establish strong relationships across product, analytics, and engineering to break silos, accelerate innovation
- Actively listen, prioritize, and respond to feedback from direct reports, colleagues and supervisors
- Lead agile, cross-functional teams across of Product, UX, Analytics, QA, and IT
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to prioritize and expedite the deployment of winning test experiences
- Evangelize the power of experimentation through clear communication of impact and success stories
Be analytical and results-focused:
- Act as a transformation agent within Digital Performance team
- Collaborate with Analytics to deliver robust post-test analyses and recommendations
- Partner with Analytics to forecast experiment traffic requirements, test duration, and expected outcomes
- Ensure all experiments are designed to drive business outcomes and contribute to Marriott’s digital growth

The pay range for this position is $56.58 to $91.83 per hour.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
